OUR ACTION

Wisedāna Foundation was created to improve the world by applying Buddhist values and principles to the challenges of modern society. As a philanthropic organization, we support systemic change for the benefit of all sentient beings and ecosystems.

To do this, we identify and promote high-impact projects and wise organizations, working closely with strategic partners to strengthen and expand our collective efforts.

CULTURE

We rely on experienced ethical and technical advisors to help us select projects that can lead to systemic change in specific areas. Their guidance allows us to remain aligned with our core values while pursuing our mission with integrity.

We aim to foster meaningful connections between individuals, organizations, businesses and institutions that can benefit from working together. By encouraging shared strategies, we help generate greater impact than any actor could achieve alone.

Thanks to the crucial support of the Italian Buddhist Union, we are able to guarantee that the projects we support are fully implemented. We also ensure constant monitoring and evaluation of the outcomes and impact.

We are committed to promoting the practice of wise generosity as a way to improve the world while also cultivating inner growth and spiritual awareness. Our hope is that this approach and its benefits may become part of everyday culture in the West.

Rather than speaking of the environment, a term that often places humans at the center, we talk about ecology. We do not see nature as a reservoir of resources to be used, but as a source of life to be respected and protected. By embracing Deep Ecology, we act on a truth that is becoming increasingly clear: we are not separate from nature. We are nature.

We are committed to protecting and supporting human cultures that place compassion at the center of their values. Among them are Buddhism and Tibetan culture, both deeply rooted in worldviews based on nonviolence, interdependence, and respect for all forms of life.

We bring together two complementary directions. On one hand, we support educational approaches that move away from performance-driven models and instead foster awareness and empathy in children. On the other hand, we promote the study of Contemplative Sciences and their integration into Western scientific discourse.

Accepting illness, aging and death as part of life is not easy. Yet learning to face these universal experiences with clarity and compassion is essential. We are especially challenged when suffering touches the lives of our loved ones or our own.

Our projects move in three directions: the defense of natural ecosystems, the protection of animals and advocacy toward institutions to promote new legal tools that safeguard nature.

We support essential services that help these cultures endure over time and thrive, along with the communities that embody and transmit them.

We believe that truly systemic change must include a cultural transformation, grounded in education, research and the cultivation of inner wisdom.

We support a shift away from the Western obsession with performance, youth and perfection toward a gentler, more tolerant and contemplative way of being.
