Dearest all,
It is with great joy that I introduce you to the philanthropic foundation established in 2023 by the Italian Buddhist Union. It is a young, dynamic and international organisation, firmly rooted in the principles and values of the ancient Buddhist philosophy from which it draws inspiration. Its name is Wisedāna Foundation and it embeds our mission to transform the world through wise generosity.
Wisedāna Foundation appeals to all those who believe in the possibility of engaging with the world in a more mindful and compassionate way, for the benefit of all sentient beings.
Operationally, the cornerstone of our work lies in the systemic approach, which is able to account for the complexity of reality. It is within this framework that the Foundation cultivates ecosystems of actors, resources, strategies, and virtuous synergies capable of generating real positive impact, sustainably. We uphold this approach through an international network of valuable partnerships, beginning with Ashoka, the network for systemic change. By virtue of these assurances of quality, we reach out to philanthropists, both public and private, to propose long-term collaborations aimed at transforming society, firmly guided by our Buddhist-inspired value framework.
Indeed, at the heart of our intervention lie the principles of interconnection and impermanence, two pillars of Buddhism that inform our philanthropic action. It is on the basis of these principles that we selected the four impact areas currently central to our work: Ecology, Education & Academy, Compassion Culture and Care. We aim to address these areas with concrete and systemic projects, effectively tackling the challenges of modern society.
Through Wisedāna Foundation, we collectively have the opportunity to achieve a wise and effective change that benefits the entire world. On a human level even before a professional one, we are happy to work towards this goal and grateful to all who share the values and principles of the Foundation.
